Northamptonshire Tour - Chapel-Brampton - 2023
July 2023 – The Roosters celebrate their 14th cricket & golf tour to Chapel-Brampton Northamptonshire – England. 42 cricket friends meet at quick Cricket Ground in The Hague – The Netherlands. In the bus Derick takes the microphone and introduces the idea of this Cricket Dice Game. ‘It might rain, gentlemen. This dice game in the pavilion is a perfect alternative for playing our beloved game in the open air. To test the idea we will play the First Roosters Dice Cricket Cup. All you guys will participate and 52 matches will determine the finalists who will play the final on the boat from Harwich to Hoek van Holland.’ And so it all started!
And yes, on Friday July 14th the cricket match against Hermes DVS Veterans at the lovely ground of Northfields Cricket Club was abandoned. It rained cats and dogs all day. So, instead, a Dice Cricket match was played, in which HDVS convincingly trashed The Roosters. On the homeward bound boat trip Lucas Hendrikse and Lennon Wiarda Lucas won by 17 runs the first ever Rooster Cricket Dice Cup.
